Welcome to NETwork Interventions: Verbal Behaviour Consultants

Having a child with a diagnosis of, or suspicions of, autism or other developmental disorders can be a very emotional time. It can often cause more uncertainty and anxiety as you ask the questions; “What can be done for my child?”, “What do we do next?” and more importantly, “Who can help me?”

NETwork Interventions provides leading edge consultation services, in the form of Verbal Behaviour, for those individuals with language delays and challenging behaviours which interfere with learning, socialising and family life.

Board Certified Associate Behaviour Analyst, Louise Cheetham, BCABA, PG Cert ABA, BSc (Hons) Psyc established NETwork Interventions in 2007 following over eight years in the field. Since it's inception as a behaviour modification company providing Applied Behaviour Analysis and Verbal Behaviour consultancy, NETwork Interventions has built up a tclose knit eam of qualified, experienced and compassionate Verbal Behaviour Consultants and Specialists.

Based across the UK, Australia and America, we specialise in local and long distance consultation services to set up Verbal Behaviour programmes for children, teenagers and adults with autism and  related developmental disorders.

Here at NETwork Interventions we focus on both therapist and parent training as we realise the importance of equipping parents with all of the tools necessary to enable their family to have the very best quality of life. An individual's motivation to learn is key to their success and we pride ourselves in our expertise in teaching those around the individual to build and maintain their motivation through the use of Verbal Behaviour techniques.

In addition to in home, school and organisation consultations, we present a series of hands on Verbal Behaviour training workshops which teach families and professionals how to teach their children to become motivated, conversational and social. We are passionate in furthering the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis to ensure all of our children affected by communication and behavioural issues no longer need to struggle unnecessarily.

Our procedures are based on the works of many prominent Behaviour Analysts. Applying the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to B.F.Skinner's functional analysis of language (Verbal Behaviour), we equip the whole family with the tools to increase socialisation, compliance and language skills. Verbal Behaviour utilises Natural Environment Teaching (NET) to provide the opportunity for our learners to become conversational and enjoy life as their typically developing peers do.

We are often asked whether we can 'recover' our children. The fact is that no one can predict how much and how quickly each of our children will learn. What we can do is to use the most empirically validated and recent research in creating the optimal envionment for your child to make significant language gains. These range from manding (requesting) through to speaking conversationally. The majority of the children whom we service make phenomenal language gains through Verbal Behaviour.

2008 has seen a new growth in NETwork Interventions . We have been blessed with inspiration from our families, friends and clients, who have seen Louise Cheetham, BCABA, PG Cert ABA, BSc (hons) Psyc, GBR BPS, establish a new and exciting branch of NETwork Interventions. Applying the same principles of Verbal Behaviour and Applied Behaviour Analysis, we have developed a Verbal Behaviour Consultation programme for those families who are struggling with their children's behaviour.

This year has seen a massive need for family assistance dealing with sibling rivalry, frustration and aggression, issues with social interactions, rudeness and attention seeking in public and to parents, settling into school issues and those worrying problems concering eating and sleeping. As well as the 'super nanny' approach to providing consultation and recommendation to families, we are now running a workshop series called 'proactive parenting'. Three have been developed, each to run over a five week, two and half hour per session series, to deal with: the function of inappropriate behaviour; teaching better communication skills; overcoming sleep and eating issues.

Our main focus is always to target an increase in language skills whilst addressing the reduction of any excess problem behaviours your child may be exhibiting. We will teach you how to reduce and prevent these, whilst teaching your child to engage in appropriate replacement behaviours.

As part of our ongoing support we will provide you with a network of professionals and parents that are facing, or have faced, similar challenges to you. You will share in the most recent research advances and experiences.

Our Company is built upon a history of resounding success and integrity where, should you choose to work with NETwork Interventions, you can be assured a step by step journey together allowing your child to reach their maximum potential.
